About Us

Hi, I’m Jennifer Sheehan — creator of Bumples, a joyful world where animals talk, teamwork matters, and believing in yourself is the greatest superpower of all.

I started writing the first Bumples stories over 60 years ago, inspired by a love of animals, space, and adventure. After taking a long break to help raise a family and teach physical education, I returned to writing — this time with a mission to help children grow through storytelling.

As a teacher and coach, I saw firsthand how powerful it is when a child realizes they can do something they didn’t think they could. Whether they were the fastest runner or the last one picked, it didn’t matter — what mattered was that they tried, had fun, and felt part of a team.

That’s the heart of Bumples.

Each book blends friendship, courage, and laughter with just enough silliness to keep kids smiling. Whether it’s a giraffe learning to be brave or a caterpillar helping a friend walk again, these stories remind kids: you can do anything if you try — and you don’t have to do it alone.

Now in my 80s, I’m still writing and creating — and loving every minute. I also offer personalized Bumples books where your child becomes part of the adventure, along with fun t-shirts, coloring books, and more.
